NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PLEDGE FULL SUPPORT FOR THE ARMED FORCES
The National Assembly has assured the armed forces of their full support, they made this pledge through the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, Senator, Ibrahim Idah (CON) who is also the Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony of Nigerian Army (NA) Small Arms Championship (NASAC, 2010) at the Gallery range in Jaji, Kaduna recently.
He congratulated the Nigerian Army (NA) and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Abdulraham Bello Dambazau, who the organizer the exercise and participants. He stressed the need for professional training and described the exercise as being highly recommendable. In his words we have seen the Armed Forces improved. In our part, the National Assembly, we are going to give the armed forces, especially the Nigerian Army adequate support in carrying out their Jobs, he said.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Abdulraham Bello Dambazau reiterated the commitment of the NA to training and thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Minister of Defence, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, (SAN) for having interest in military exercises.
The result and presentation of trophy were made by Acting Chief of Training and Operations, Brig Gen TT Iwayah. The first position was won by 82 Division NA which, scored three thousand and three hundred point (3,300 point). The second position is 1 Division NA which scored three thousand one hundred and forty four point (3,144 point). The third position is 81 Division NA scored three thousand, one hundred and ten point (3,110 point). The fourth position is 3 Armour Division NA which scored two thousand, seven hundred and twenty five point (2,725 point). The fifth position is Army Headquarter Garrison, scored two thousand four hundred and thirteen point (2,413 point). The last and sixth position is 2 Division NA with scores of two thousand three hundred and fifty seven point (2,357 point). Present at occasion the C.I.C Major General Aminu Bichi Maitama. The former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt General Salisu Ibrahm (Rtd), All GOCs were present at the occasions; General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army major General Kamarudeen Role, General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Lawrence Pwanobato Ngubane General Officer Commanding 3 Armour Division Nigerian Army, major General Saleh Maina General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, major General Euguene Nwanguma General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Muhammed Isah Army Headquarter Garrison Provost Marshal, major General YD Pyeng, Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ishaya Iko Ibrahim, Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Oluseyi Petirin who represented by another Airforce senior officer. Inspector General (IG) of Police also on the list, Mr Ogbonna Onovo who represented by Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of North/West, Mrs EV Okoronko and representative of Control General of Custom.

THE ZIMBABWE STAFF COLLEGE AND JOINT COMMAND AND STAFF COURSES 23 VISITED HEADQUARTERS INFANTRY CORPS CENTRE JAJI KADUNA ON 12/08/10
The Infantry man welcomed the students of Zimbabwe Staff College and Joint Command and Staff Course to the home of Infantry.
The welcome address by Major C Ogbuabo the Command Infantry was represented by Col GAR Dogo and the Col introduced the ICC Senior Offiers who were present and also urged the Zimbabwe team leader to introduce his men who represent the Commander Zimbabwe Students Staff College who is Brig Gen Thomas Moyo who introduced his officers.
And also make a coment that he was here in 1981 and the MC Major Huwagwu said the is a tradition the said the purpose being here he urge the General to let them know the reason by being here.
The Gen said to support their course in Nigeria to trains their soldiers and the Infantry was formed and Infantry Corps look like, its show by Lt Col GO Omoregbe and his major, Col Omoregbe is Staff Officer grade, he said its his pleasure to welcome the Zimbabwe Students to Nigerian Army Infantry Corps home also explain how Nigerian Army was formed at Kawo on the out skirts of Kaduna in 1960 and on 19 Oct 04, the Infantry was fully organised, also the organographt of ICC was show on the screen and show all the unity under Infantry Corps. He stated that the role of Infantry Corps Centre is to trains officers and soldiers has capacity to formed training grand and many countries are benefited under the Infantry Corps Centre eg Zimbabwe, Togo and so on.
And they gave room for questtion which one of the students who was a Major Tichadima Macheranize from Zimbabwe that table his question on how to enlighting them about the recruitment that how they organised the recruit and the training of paramilitary in Army school eg training of agricultural personeel, which the answer was given by Col GAR Dogo. At the end of the programme was a presentation of token gift which was presented by Col GAR Dogo to the Zimbabwe Brig Gen Thomas Moyo and vote of thanks by Major C Ogbuabo followed by groups photograph.

Maj Gen Edi addressing Commander Infantry Corps, Commandant NAPKC and other principal staff officers of Infantry Corps Centre during his visit.
The commander Infantry Corps Maj Gen Aminu Bichi Maitama has observed that the contribution of the former Army Headquarters Garrison Commander Maj Gen Edi to the Nigerian Army most especially in the area of Peace Support Operations will remain evergreen.
Maj Gen Maitama made this observation when Gen Edi paid him valedictory visit in his office. Explaining further, the Corps Commander noted that Gen Edi’s retirement can only remove his physical presence from service pointing out that young generation of the Nigerian Army officers have a lot to tap from the legacy he left behind.
